THE MCKENNA COMPLETION PROGRAM FOR WORKING ADULTS

Webber International University specializes in several areas of business education. Recognizing the desire of employed adults to continue their education, WIU has made schedule adjustments to fit their lifestyle. The University has been serving employed adults who wish to further their education through evening classes. However, some of our students are concerned with the length of time it takes to earn a part-time degree. To accommodate their needs, we have designed a unique schedule to allow mature adults the opportunity to complete a B.S. in Business Administration in two years, provided they have earned at least 60 hours of college credit. Each transcript is evaluated on an individual basis. Adjustments for possible general education deficiencies will be made accordingly.

Students may begin any program in September or January each year. Classes meet two nights a week and every Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Second sections of some classes will be offered at South Florida Community College in Avon Park.

To meet the residency requirements, 30 of the last 33 hours of the 60 hours of business core and major concentration must be taken at Webber International University.

An Associate of Science in Management or Finance is designed for working adults who lack the credits and requirements needed to enter the Bachelor of Science program.

ORIENTATION

Individual campus tours are part of the adult student’s first visit to the campus. Upon receipt of the application, the advisor gives the student an orientation packet. The packet includes student information necessary to the non-traditional student including the drug and alcohol policy, the immunization requirements, employer reimbursement policy and the refund policy.

TUITION

The tuition rates reflect a reduction from regular tuition. The price differential is based on a built-in scholarship program to encourage working adults to continue their education. Therefore, adult students are not eligible for any other institutional scholarships.

FINANICAL AID

While there are no institutional scholarships available, there is financial aid available to help finance your education. Adult students are eligible for state grants and need based federal grants. A FAFSA must be filed to determine need based grants and for student loan eligibility.
The state of Florida offers the Florida Resident Access grant to residents who attend private universities full time. In 10-11 the FRAG is $1246.00 each fall and spring semester of full time attendance.

Federal Stafford Student Loans allow students to borrow up to $12,500. Each year as a Junior or Senior.

In addition, many companies offer educational benefits.

If a student withdraws, all program specific refund policies and the Webber Institutional Refund Policy will apply as stated in the catalog.
