It was hard at the beginning finding a good business college where I could develop my studies, sports abilities and English skills individually. I found an answer to my needs in a university in Babson Park, Florida, thanks, among others, to the golf coach, Nancy Nichols, who accepted me on the golf team, where I have improved as a person and also stepped up my game; thanks go also to my several teammates from different countries.
Webber is situated 40 minutes drive from downtown Orlando and 30 minutes drive from Tampa, an advantage that gives me many different options and activities on weekends, such as visiting Disney World or enjoying dinner in the Hard Rock Café.
Webber International University is not only preparing me for the competitive world of business, but it also lets me become involved in sports and other activities where I can discover my strong points. I can definitely say I found a big family, where classes are not far from dorms and professors know you personally. My professors to know me personally, know the sport I play, and what my academic necessities are, and they are always ready to help.
The best thing about Webber International University is without doubt the human quality of their students;, I have made friends from more than 30 different countries around the world. This really helps me to know about and understand other cultures and in some cases, even languages. The Warriors always have a smile and “hello” for you and they are always willing to help with whatever issue with which you may need assistance. The beach party is undoubtedly the best party of the year at Webber, full of funny activities, surprises and friendly people to hang out with; no one should miss this event.
It is always a pleasure having long talks with Steve Warner, Vice President of Student Life, and Johanna de Verteuil, coordinator of students Services; they constitute the office we call “Student Life” and are always ready for guiding international and national students in any aspect of life, college-related or otherwise, that makes one feel safe, especially international students.
I am still undecided about what to do following graduation, but wherever life takes me, Webber International University will always have a special place in my best memories. If you are a future student coming to Webber International University, do not hesitate to stop and visit with Webber students, it is really worthwhile, and very important: “never forget to have a strong life/school balance to enjoy both to the maximum”
