General Business Studies
The Bachelor of Science in General Business Studies is a program that recognizes the ever-changing needs in the world today. The program offers flexibility for students who have career goals that require a business background but do not require a specific major field. The program is structured to permit the transfer of up to 39 non-business related credits for students who have earned credit in another area but have recognized the need for a business foundation in their chosen field of employment. It also provides flexibility for the student to select a large number of electives within the business field to tailor the educational program to the students life goals. The General Business Studies course work is largely managerial and entrepreneurial in scope. The program is ideal for students who want to operate a small business in a technical field or who are reentering college after having earned college credit in another field. Students are encouraged to consider a minor to accompany the General Business Studies degree.

We accept up to 69 hours from a community college; which leaves a minimum of 51 hours taken at Webber International University. Typically about 30 of the 39 general education hours (except for a few courses, such as BUS310, ENG302, or SBS250) are transferred from the AA degree. These 30 hours plus the 39 hours of electives equal 69 hours - the maximum credit transferred from a community college.
In addition to the above night/Saturday courses, the following courses are offered at night to fill missing requirements:
ENG200 Creative Writing (humanities or elective)
ENG208 Directed Readings in Literature
(humanities or elective)
ECO242 Macroeconomics (social studies or elective)
PHY290 General Astronomy (science or elective)
One or two additional elective courses may need to be offered to give students a choice. Students also have the three community service courses to fulfill general education requirements or electives.
On all course schedules, SAT denotes Saturday classes from 8:00 to 1:00. One class is taught each half of the semester.
