Corporate Communications
Today’s business environment relies heavily on the production, presentation and
management of information. The modern corporate communication professional writes news
releases, designs brochures, edits material created earlier, and updates the organization’s web
page all from a desktop computer. The Corporate Communication program, leading to the B.S.
degree, prepares students for positions in government, private industry, and the not-for-profit
sector as specialists in the visual and verbal presentation of information. The required courses in this interdisciplinary program focus on how communication is used in business to promote
products and services motivate employees and explain corporate decisions to stakeholders. The elective courses enable students to pursue an area of interest or specialization--particularly in the areas of media relations or employee motivation and training.
