The Security Management major is designed for those students who aspire to have a leadership role – in either the public or private sector – in the realms of security. Consequently, the degree is designed to provide students with the fundamentals they need to be managers in general coupled with specific coursework in crime, justice, investigation, and security. As a cohesive course of study providing a broad base of management knowledge and a concentration of industry specific knowledge, the program of study is intended to provide students, whether in private or governmental entities, with the skills they need to manage security related departments and functions.
