Admissions Counselor
The Webber International University is currently accepting applications for an Admissions Officer to serve as primary contact for the public, including prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and other audiences requesting admissions information. Provide admissions counseling via telephone, electronic, print, and in-person communication. Prepare and deliver presentations about college planning and the admission process.
Implement recruitment strategies in an assigned geographic territory. Assist with implementing on- and off-campus events, and with developing outreach and yield projects. Represent the University at high schools, college fairs, and other events.
Utilize constituent relationship management tools to interact with prospective students throughout the application process. Maintain records, generate reports, and assist in analyzing and interpreting data.
Review undergraduate admissions applications and make admission decisions, working within established guidelines. Work with appropriate colleagues to ensure applications are processed efficiently and to address systematic issues on a case-by-case basis.
As a member of the marketing team in the Office of Admissions, implement college recruitment strategies, provide pre-admissions counseling, make presentations, implement and explain University admissions policies, evaluate college admissions applications. Some travel required.
Job Description: Under general supervision from a designated administrator, implement and explain University admissions policies. Evaluate admissions applications.
Min. Quals.: Bachelor's degree. Experience must be in university admissions and/or counseling high school or college students. Experience may also require at least 1 year supervision. This position requires a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, a check will be performed.
The ideal candidate will have work experience in a collegiate environment, interacting with students and parents. Knowledge of college admissions recruitment practices and admissions credential review would be beneficial. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to speak in front of large groups are essential. Applicants should have a strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet navigation, together with experience in database-driven communications.
Unusual Working Conditions: Some positions may require the ability to transport recruitment materials up to 40 pounds; work occasional evenings and weekends, and may include occasional national & international travel.
